In a bold move towards upholding democracy and seeking justice, High Chief Dr. Kemdi Chino Opara, the candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) in the recently concluded Imo governorship election, has taken legal action by filing a petition at the Imo Governorship Election Tribunal.
The move reflects the party’s commitment to lawfully challenge what they perceive as an unjust outcome and to ensure the recovery of what they believe to be a stolen mandate.
The events of November 11, 2023, in Imo State, are described as an ignominious subversion of the will of the people, as they were allegedly denied the opportunity to freely give their mandate to Dr. Opara and the YPP. The party views this as a serious threat to democracy, emphasizing that such acts of larceny should not be allowed to stand for any reason.
