A Civil Society Organization, Centre for the Defence of Human Rights and Democracy In Africa has described the Deputy Commissioner of Police Abba Kyari as a hero in anti crime crusade of the Nigeria Police Force.
Abba Kyari is presently the commander Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) and a member of International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP).
At the official unveiling of the 2020 Calendar and almanac bearing the grisly emblazoned image of Abba Kyari in their secretariats, the group in turns poured encomiums on Abba Kyari.
While making the presentation, the Director General of the Centre, Professor Maurice Fanyo says DCP Abba Kyari has served the nation so meritoriously and therefore deserve accolades. He stated that the centre decided to honour him because of his numerous achievements in the force in cracking high profile crimes.
The Coordinator of the Group, Mr Mohammed Mustapha described Abba Kyari as a true hero deserving of honour. Pointing out that the Calendar and other programmes that would be reeled out in due course is one of the ways the Centre chose to celebrate Kyari.
Abba Kyari is arguably the most celebrated and decorated police officer in Nigeria. He joined the police force in 2020 and has risen through the file and ranks.
He led the team that arrested the notorious billionaire kidnap Kingpin, Evans, arrested the killers of former Chief of Defence staff, Alex Badeh among other high profile covert operations.
