Today is World Children’s Day, a day set aside all over the world to celebrate Children, the future of every society.
The well-being of these Children should be our utmost priority and their rights protected.
Children have rights which are constantly violated in this part of the society. They have a right to association with both parents, basic needs of life such as food, shelter, clothing, health care and education. They also have a right to freedom from discrimination owing to their colour, religion, gender, ethnicity amongst others.
In Nigeria, more than 10 Million primary school aged Children are currently out of school due to child marriages, gender bias, child abuse, poverty, disabilities etc.
UNICEF in partnership with the media wants to build an amazing society where every Child is sent to school, so they can fulfill their potentials in life.
Can you please join the campaign to advocate for a better access to basic education for every Nigerian Child?
Remember, a Child you fail to equip with the right education today, will become a thorn on your flesh tomorrow and a menace to the society.
Stand up for a Child today, the future belongs to them.
