Photos: Aliko Dangote Foundation Donates 10 blocks of hostels to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

This is the 1st hostels built in the school in the last 40 years. With the capacity of over 2000 beds, it is also the largest individual intervention in any tertiary institution in Nigeria.

The hostels was built at the cost of N1.2 billion. it has Water, electricity, washing area & other basic infrastructures in place.

In addition, 4 shuttle buses were also donated by Alhaji Dangote to ease movement between the hostels & the Campus.

The Hostels were meant to be for Female students only but given the location (Phase II), management felt it is too isolated for female students to be housed there hence the conversion of the biggest Male hostel (Suleiman) to Female hostel and the Aliko Dangote Hall will be used by boys.

The “Aliko Dangote Hall” was unveiled by the University’s Chancellor, HRM The Obi of Onitsha.
