Nigerian Flags To Be Flown Half Mast, In Honour Of Shagari

Ex-President Shehu Shagari, aged 93 passed away at the National Hospital Abuja on Friday.

He was Nigeria’s president in the second Republic that started in 1979. He was reelected in 1983. Shortly after that, General Muhammadu Buhari, now President of Nigeria overthrew him in a military coup.

The former President of Nigeria, Alhaji Shehu Shagari will be buried on Saturday in Sokoto, according to the family.

His grandson, Nuradeen Mahe, told newsmen in Sokoto that the late President would be flown from Abuja to Sokoto for burial on Saturday, in accordance with Islamic rites.

In Honour of Late Ex-President, Flags will be flown Half Mast at the Presidential Villa in line with Presidential directives on 30th Dec 2018
