Nigeria’s Senate deputy speaker Ike Ekweremadu, his wife Nwanneka Ekweremadu and son Tuesday survived an assassination attempt at his Apo Quarters in the country’s capital, Abuja.
“The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, his wife, and son escaped an assassination attempt at about 4 am on Tuesday,” Uche Anichukwu, special adviser on media to the Deputy President of the Senate disclosed in a statement.
The yet to be identified gunman has, however, being arrested by the police in Abuja after his invasion into the Ekweremadu residence.
