2019: Okorocha loses as APC NWC drops son-in-law, adopts Uzodinma

The National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomole has opened up on who is the governorship candidate of the party in Imo State.

He said the Chief Judge of Imo State in his wisdom through a court order obtained by the Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere directed him not to have anything to do with the second governorship primary conducted by General Agbabiaka Commitee in Imo State.

Speaking to newsmen in Abuja on Friday, Oshiomole  “What I have not been able to do for Gov. Okorocha is to assist him with the instrument of APC, even as that will border on abuse of power on my side.

“And I do not have such powers to help him to create Rochas Okorocha political dynasty in Imo state in which he will be the APC Senatorial candidate and his son in-law, Uche Nwosu, the governorship candidate.

“I am convinced that this is where many of my friend governors tend not to understand me.

“If there is conflict between the known interest of the great people of Imo who have reposed confidence in us by voting us to power as they did in 2015, I will resist.

“I will resist every unlawful pressure to undermine the wishes of the good people of Imo and at this stage, the wishes of APC members in Imo who do not want a political dynasty, by the way they have voted,” Oshiomhole stressed.

In a related development, Senator Uzodinma has made an official statement signalling his acceptance of his nomination as the governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress,APC in Imo State.

Uzodinma admitted that the battle for the party ticket was not an easy one.

“It is therefore with all sense of humility and profound responsibility that I accept to bear the flag of our party, the All Progressive party for the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Imo State” he said.

The Senator said the battle ahead is not an easy one soliciting for the co operation of all loyal party faithful majority of Imo citizens.

‘Needless to re emphasize that the original picture of Imo State as envisioned by our past and present hereos, the Mbakwe’s the Echerous, the Enwerems, the Nzeribes and so forth, is not a mirage or a mystery to achieve. It is indeed more realizable than ever before, with the quantum leap in human and technological advancements of which we are well endowed”

The Senator said he does not pretend to have the magic wand, but expressed hope that he will make a difference.
