My Guber Ambition Approved By God- Tony Nwulu

A key governorship aspirant in Imo State, Hon Tony Nwulu has said God is behind his resolve to govern Imo State in 2019, revealing that his ambition has divine approval.

Nwulu, the 39 year old Federal Lawmaker who initiated the Not Too Young To Run bill which was recently signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari, spoke at his Eziudo community in Ezinihitte Mbaise LGA of Imo State at the weekend.

The youngest governorship aspirant in Imo State told a tumultuous crowd that stormed the Town Primary School, Eziudo that he has prepared himself for the task of governance of the State having put in place effective policies that would lead to re- engineering of the State.

A staunch advocate of youth involvement in governance, Nwulu who was recently invited by the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium, where he secured a huge investment package that will accrue to the State when elected Governor, said he is not a desperate politician.

He said he only followed and listen to God’s voice and directive before plunging into the Imo State governorship contest.

The lawmaker, who re-enacted the feat of Late Nnamdi Azikiwe in the first Republic by winning a federal Reps seat in Lagos State in 2015, said he had to also respond to the clarion call of millions of Imo youths who converged in Owerri recently and urged him to join the Imo governorship race.

He recalled his journey to the House of Representatives and how with God’s guidance he was able to shatter the power of ethnic cleavages to win a Federal Reps seat in yorubaland.

Nwulu opened up at his country home “ I’m a product of Gods grace and divine intervention.

“Recently I asked God for directive and a silent voice told me to run for Imo governorship seat just like i was also told in 2014 to run for House of Representative and asked God how and where ?

“And he responded that here and now for I will make a way for you. In my prayers I told God I don’t speak or understand Yoruba language and he said go ahead my son everything will work together for you good.”

“For me there is no godfather anywhere but God in heaven. Among all of us contesting for Imo Governorship seat, I’m the youngest. I believe power belongs to God and that is why I’m not desperate at all. ”

“I don’t condemn and will never insult any political leader elected by the people. If God can give me victory in a land I don’t speak their language how much more in my homeland.

“God said that I was going to be Governor, God told me that it was going to be realized in 2019. And by the grace of God all the hurdles and challenges that will come with it i will overcome them and will be sworn in as Governor in 2019.”

“Since God has directed that i should go ahead and contest I’ll do that and nobody will be able to defeat me , that I can assure you! because it’s his directive.

“But if God had said relax my son and forget it. I’ll do just that. I will go back to my business because I listen to God who alone gives power.”

Nwulu’s speech was intermittently cheered on by the mammoth crowd just as he received royal blessings from Eze Desmond Oguguo, Nmiri ne Zuruoha 1 of Eziudo ancient kingdom when he visited the monarch at his palace.
