A Facebook user, Huldah Lynns-Ihetuge who shared the story is calling for justice to be served:

What was this young boy’s offence? Kingsley just got married barely 5 weeks ago!!!! He just went to Exclusive stores Wuse 2 Abuja to shop on the 18th of October ,where two police men fighting with their guns shot him on the leg.One of the police men is Akpabio Daniel of maitama division. Now the doctors are insisting the leg must be amputated.
Please let this matter get to the IG ASAP, this poor boy’s leg must not be amputated and those Police men must not go free.

Another Facebook user, Ugochi Osisiogu-Nwoji is also calling for justice!

#justice4Kingsley:
The sad news of the ordeal of my dear friend and brother in the hands of a negligent Nigerian police officer has ruined my mood!

For those that didn’t yet read about it, Kingsley Ezera Kalu, who just got married a few weeks ago, was hit by the accidental discharge of a police officer who was engaging in an argument with other police officers, officers of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corp and members of a task force.

He was taken to Maitama Hopsital immediately and the next day, he was referred to National Hospital. After initial review, the doctors decided that a surgery was necessary but didn’t perform the surgery till 25 October 2017 – 5 days after the accident. By this time the nerves and blood vessels were dead!!! He left lower limb has now been amputated!!!!

Please join me demand at he is alive and we trust God for his quick recovery but the people who have been so irresponsible as to cause him and his family this pain should be held accountable. The Police needs to do more than just give the family N260,000.00 for an incident that will change the life of the family completely.

Please join me demand #justice4Kingsley. We have started the campaign on twitter with #justice4Kingsley.

Please retweet and also let the word out in your social media platforms too.
